Taj Mahal.. Epitome of Love

Books say that Taj Mahal is the highest epitome of Love... built by an Emperor Shah Jahan.. showing his never-ending love and devotion to his beautiful Queen Mumtaz.

The real essence of the love of this Monument is Truly Evident.. in this song called "Ek Shahenshah ne Banvake Haseen TajMahal" in the Hindi Movie LEADER (1964) acted out by the ever-green Legend Dilip Kumar and ever-green Beauty VyjantiMala. Sung by the melody queen Lata Mangeshkar and Majestic Mohd. Rafi Saab. The beauty of the song is that it is actually based on a Classical Raag "Lalita Gauri". Raag Lalita-Gauri is a union of the two ancient Raags Lalit & Gauri named after the manifestations of the Divine Mother of Shakti. This Raag showers on the listener a pious stream of devotion and fills them ith a soul drenching spiritual experience. This raag is one of the most difficult one to be sung.. and I believe Lata has done pure justice to it. Even Rafi paled in comparison to Lata's expertise of striking the perfect tone of the raaga.

Lyrics are equally mind-blowing. Moves even the heart of stone...

Ek Shahenshah Ne Banvake Haseen TajMahal...
Saari Duniya Ko Mohabbat ki Nishaani Di hai.
(An Emeperor has given this entire world a symbol of Love
by making the beautiful TajMahal)
Iske saaye mei Sada Pyaar ke Charche Honge
Khatm jo Hona Sakegi Wo Kahaani Di hai...
(In its shade will remain forever the praise of Love
Providing us.. with a never-ending story...)

I honestly tell you people.. this song is what made me see Taj Mahal in a whole new way. It just completely made my mind and soul sing.
