Story time-come come

I have grown up loving Grandma's stories. Today, I want you all to come sit with me while I narrate to you one of my favorites.

There was a king once.. with four wives.. he likes his second wife better than his first wife... and he liked the third one better than the second...n the fourth wife the youngest..he liked her the best. So, he used to neglect his first wife a lot.

So.. one day this king was struck by a very serious illness.. and he was told that he doesnt hav much time... and the King feels very restless..and sad...that he has to leave everyone..

So.. he called the wife he liked the most.. that is the fourth wife.. and said..
"listen, i am afraid of death.. and i dont want to go alone.. will u come with me...?"
The fourth wife..being the youngest.. straight away said..
"No, of course not!" and immediately went away.

The King then called the third wife... whom he liked the second best...after the fourth wife... and said.. l
"listen... i am afraid of death.. i would like you to come with me.. will you?"
The third wife.. didnt right away say no like the fourth wife.. Instead, she said..
"I cant come because after you die i will marry someone else."

So he was little upset and finally he called the second wife..and said
" See, the last two wives didnt want to come with me.. atleast you come with me.."
The second wife was nicer than the rest two. So, she said..
"ok, i will come with you.. but only till the graveyard"

By now, the King was feelin very sad, when his first wife.. who was very thin and not so beautiful anymore came to him.. and... she said..
" Dear King, U are my husband.. and i will always be with you no matter what.. im ready to come with you all the way..."

Now..what is the meaning of this story...?

The meaning is like this... every man comes across the four forms that are shown as the wives in this story.

This fourth wife.. whom the king loved the most.. is symbolizing our physical body.. we are attracted to our body the most.. we always want to perfect it... we do things to satisfy it.. but we shud know.. no matter what.. this body will not come with us after our life is gone. its straight no..

The third wife.. who said after the king will die will marry other.. is symbolizing.. our status, our money... after we die.. this status and our money that we have attained.. will go to someone else.. maybe our children.. or to some other person...who replaces us in the successful world.

The second wife.. who was willing to come ..till the graveyard.. symbolizes... our relatives and friends.. they are all there for us all the time. and are willing to come till the graveyard for support.. but not beyond that.

The first wife.. whom the King neglected the most.. is nothing but the soul inside us.. our aatma, our personality, our individuality. our conscience..
We dont really care so much about it.. nor do we give any attention to it. but, it is the only thing that will stay with us forever..that is always our own.. our soul stays with us forever.. learn to love yourself.. and you can embrace any trouble in this earth with no fear.. even death.

Children of the Sky

World, hear me. This is a cry of hope and dream from one of your children. A child who has been gifted with the best luxuries that she could visualize. One who was born in the better side of lifestyle, spoonfed all responsibilities. Today, I am going to stop saying NO to myself. This week my exams start. Although, they are not going to change anything big in my life at this moment. Yet, I have taken it a point to take them as a challenge for myself. Now, no more of "no, cant do", "no, dont know", "no, wont".

Negativity is completly eradicated from my life until I score brownie points achieving my goal. Ambition right now is to return to India. Let's hope that I pull this through. US was a horrible suprise that I certainly wasn't happy about. I lived till yesterday with this feeling. Now, I am ready to shed that load. Whatever has happenned, regretting is only putting me in this cyclonic mood-swing. NO more thinking more than tht's required.

Now its.. JUST DO IT.. Nike Way. Children of Sky don't stay on earth for long. They go to the place where they do belong..Sky! Lets make this ride as exciting as it can get! I bow down to myself and my thirst for thrill. Now, I start a life..for good or for bad...certainly more motivated than ever before! :)

Coca Cola Enjoy..

Aah Yes.. the old age myth has come true. Seriously, Is Diet Cola less harmful than Coca Cola??
I dont know.. and frankly I dont care. I am not a Coke addict. (Neither the drink nor the drug). But yeah.. I am a "Diet" Addict. Everyday I am approached by choices.. as small as.. eating the healthier yoghurt.. choosing 0.5% instead of 0.8 or 1%. I don't really know how much it matters in the long run.. but it really is a tiring to look for alternatives to each delicious thing that comes your way. :P

By the way, I came across this new Tamil Advertisement in SunTV about Cocacola by Radhika. She wears a typical saree and gives a speech on how much she cares about the healthy production of Cocacola as she also believed all those rumors about how bad it is. So, they show her wearing this showercap in some Cocacola type factory.. looking over the way the bottles are capped and produced and she explains that its a really healthy process and recommends that anyone who has a doubt should visit the factory. She then opens a cocacola bottle drinks it saying.. I can tell with guarantee that Cocacola is a very Healthy Drink and she takes a gulp of Cola.

What is this world coming to?

"what is this world coming to?"

Ok, maybe my thought process starting from one direction to another and ended in such a philosophical question. But, it all started with my last post. Yes, the one about my Teddy Bear. It went on to my Financial Markets Class yesterday. My proffessor addressed the class politely and gave us details about the course structure. Then, she went on to add that she hopes to finish most of the lectures before the mid-term exam. After that, she wants to sit back and relax while the students come up in front and do presentations. The reason which she explained after looking cautiously at her stomach. She is pregnant and is due to have a baby by January. She "hopes" to be here till the end of the semester.. but if that isnt the case, then a substitute teacher would be arranged. Me and my friends were amused. She looked so damn slim! Where is this baby?? Yes, just like boys stare at women.. we girls were staring at her weird! :P

I was playing with my pen wondering what this woman was doing in a university, when she should clearly be at home enjoying this. But, then she threw me off balance with another statement that her two year old son is at home and therefore she wont be available for consultation at all hours. I stared at her... well.. middle..again. Gosh, i haven't seen a woman go through all this.. this.. well baby process. Atleast, i havent seen the 'bloating' session before yet. Lol, pardon my ignorance. Yes, well.. I did see the bloated final version of my classmate who, from what information i could gather, had delivered her child one week before the final exam week. She still turned up for the final exams. Well, I must say Kudos for her.. because she carried herself well throughout the whole session without a flinch. Then again, this wasnt her first time. This is her second child and yes, she has been married for six years now.

While i was listening to Himesh's jhalak dikhlaaja in my w300i, a realization hit me in this cold afternoon of september 7th. The world is changing so quickly! The whole process of learning and observing has just become twice faster. Children.. are actually Brilliant nowadays! They achieve things that we cant even fathom to!

I mean.. what is the most well-known toy for a little boy? Guns! He loves guns and learns to use it when he can't even spell the word Gun yet!
Favorite game for a boy? Police-thief game or super-hero games. Why not declare peace? No wayzz.. tichikiyaonnnnn.. I am here to shoot everyone with my plastic gun! And we are sitting here gasping at the arrests of terrorists. Look at what your kids are exposed to!

Girls aren't better off either. Most well-known Toy for a little girl? Barbie! The perfect image of a new modern era girl who dresses slutty and looks bimboish. The first thing your little girl learns is how to undress and dress a Barbie. And we are dumbstruck by the emerging Bipasha's and Mallika's. What else do u expect??

Favorite game for a girl? Family-family game. A huge fight between the lil girls on who gets to be the 'mommy' for the dolly. "... I will stay at home and take care of the baby and cook, and you go to office ok?..." And these same girls grow up to become 'feminists'???

What is this world coming to...

Small Step for ManKind..

In 1969, Neil Armstrong placed the first ever human foot on the Moon and uttered these words: "That's one small step for man but one giant leap for mankind." It was only one step taken by a normal man called Armstrong.. but where, how, and when he took that step; is the most important fact that has changed Human history today! The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, NASA was established in 1958 under President Eisenhower. It was 'initially' put across as a fitting response to the Soviet Union's first artificial sattellite launch. From then on, thousands of specialists, astronauts, scientists, technicians and many more have been working in and around the world for about 45 years now to answer the simple basic question of "what is out there in space". As every mission of NASA is technically very complicated to comprehend, the facts tell us that what lies beneath the surface of complicated equations and calculations is far far more simple.

In September,1999 NASA lost a $125 million Mars orbiter because of a simple mismatch of measurement units. "Lockheed Martin Engineering team used English units, while the agency's team used the conventional metric system for a key spacecraft operation. The Units mismatch prevented navigation information from transferring between the Mars Climate Orbiter space team in at Lockheed Martin in Denver and the flight team at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California." -- quotes CNN. Who would have thought that simple metric conversions that we learnt as kids in primary school would come handy in such a high-priced expensive complicated mission?

Coming to a recent historicaly tragic moment for many countries including US, Israel and even India.. for the loss of Seven priceless astronauts who perished aboard the space shuttle Columbia when it disintegrated nearly 40 miles above the Earth. The shuttle's remains and human remains were found in fields in Texas on Feb 1,2003. Such a great catastrophe could occur only due to some majorly huge technical mishap. But, when NASA sent an investigation team in search of something that is similar to 'black-box', although not with the efficient iron covering, the chances seemed quite grim for it to survive(even though it was a relatively small 40 mile fall). After a tiresome hunt, it was finally found intact(with the help of an estimation of the place where it most likely must have fallen with the help of the already recovered pieces around Texas region) in a small opening in one of the fields in Texas. Yet, NASA investigation team named it a pure "miracle" and a "boon" for the investigation to carry on as per plan. It was here that they circumfaced the actual cause of a gross failure of perfect entry into the Earth's orbit. They detected an intense heating in the left wing which intensified over the few minutes of entry into the orbit as gases entered a supposed "leak" in the surface of the shuttle.

By now, it had become evident that the supposed "leak" was caused prior to the entry into the Earth's orbit, which brought the focus back to the "launch" video. One of the videos placed detected a piece of foam falling over the wing edge during launch. This was a very common occurrence and was not considered to be great enough to create potential damage to the space shuttle. Still, followed by this clue, the investigation team set up a small demo of the actual 'left wing' parts and aimed at a likely 6th iron plate. The effect was only mild scratch. Not to be defeated, they further calculated and found the 'exact' location of the hit by the foam which was found to be in the 8th plate. A similar test was again done, with the foam piece (of about 1.7 pounds) hitting the 8th plate at the right angle..and lo behold! A huge 25 cms wide hole was created. It came as a huge shock...

Sometimes, I wonder.. if those seven astronauts' lives... including Kalpana Chawla...could have been saved. If it had been the sixth plate, the damage was only a scratch.. but as fate would have it.. it had to be the eight plate that caused death and huge loss. But who can argue with the Laws of Physics. Just like we can't argue with the probability of human err to be 0.1.. leaving 1% to chance. Reminds me of the time when an AeroPeru Boeing 757 crashed few minutes after take-off resulting in the death of sixty-one passengers and all nine crew members aboard on October 2, 1996. This Lima-Santiago flight took off and shortly enough was reported to be receiving contradictory emergency messages like overspeed, underspeed, flying too low etc. When the Pilot decided to descend, the plane hit the waters..and although there were survivors on board at that point, they invariably drowned. When investigation started, it was to everyone's suprise a simple err on the maintenance crew cleaner. While cleaning the aircraft, he is required to mask a tape on the the static ports and remove them after cleaning. Consequently, the removal bit was forgotten and even though 4 different people including the Captain did their routine-check up.. a simple usage of silvery duct tape resulted in an overlook so major.

Every person's life in today's world has become very competitive. We often look over simple matters like switching off the gas rightaway, or using a clean towel, eating healthier food, regular medicine intakes, condom usage, routine-check ups etc. These don't have direct effect perhaps.. but on the long run..it will hit upon you one day.. that ur small 1 second or 1 minute act changed ur future forever... Life's problems often seem like NASA missions to us.. and some of us fail to believe in the importance of simplest of things because of the huge burden of a bigger thing hovering over the head. Life's ambitions are big endeavors..but everything starts small. Everyone urges you to see the world from the hollistic view. Look at the world as a whole... look at the bigger perspective. Is bigger the better always? The bigger view encompases millions of smaller views. Every small view is unique and no matter how minute they are.. they "do matter". That is my conclusion for the day and I hope to tell you that even the biggest space institute in this world called NASA, which teaches man to look at this earth from the 'bigger perspective', needs the smaller things for its survival...

Hmmmm..

Music is playing in my new Sony Ericsson Walkman Series W300i to the glory of the night.. as the headphones are secured in my ears..listening to..jaadu hai nasha hai from movie Jism. I have put it in a loop...relaxing in the mood that has set in at 10:30 pm. I roll over and open the flap of my phone and quickly run through my message Inbox. After a quick glance, I stoop down to pick up ma AquaFina and take a few gulps. I fix the few strands of hair that has escaped my hair clasp. I ponder over the few conversations I had earlier with my friends online and on phone. Then I remembered one very vividly and I smiled at the thought of hearing my best friend's voice once again after a long break.. She sounded great..and pretty excited. Who wouldn't be..if you are getting married soon, right?

She got engaged a few months ago. She said she got news for me.. and she slowly admitted that she and her bf may tie the big knot real soon. Of course, we say 'tie-the-knot' in Indian style cause..it symbolizes the sacred thread. But, for her it was more of..exchanging vows..and then crossing the threshold. :) Then, I frowned. She had asked me enthusiasticaly..if I can be her maid-of-honor. Wow..! That was my first reaction. She went on to convince me about how she thinks no one would fit the bill as much as me.. and how she will bear the cost of me flying across the continent to America(!!).

But of course, Only If I get the permission from my Dear Parents. I rolled over..as the second stanza of Jaadu hai Nasha hai played soothingly in my ears and I closed my eyes and let out a deep sigh. Somethings are better left un-said..and one of them would be to accept the fact that we can't be, as Indians, as free as these foriegners. But, thats a dishevelled feeling which I don't myself agree with at times. I guess.. calling someone an ABCD(American Born..CONFUSED DESI) does make sense. COnfused, we are. We dont hide it either. I tossed the hairstrand fallin on my cheek and swiftly searched for my phone..opened it..and stopped the song. I scrolled down the list and selected "soniye" song.

Tu hi tu hi meri manzil..
tu hi chaahat mei hai shaamil..

I looked out the window at the darkness staring back at me..and a shimmering light that passes by..Im guessing it was a car. I suddenly looked up to see a faint Moon. A lil voice inside said..

"... wat a stupid girl u are.. someone is offering u to be her Maid-of-Honor..do u even know what that means??"

Little startled.. i realized i really wasnt so sure. I got up and logged online. Swiftly did a google search, and found one website. It started like this..."Maid of Honor should be your closest friend - many times, a bride will choose her sister." Oh yeah, I smiled so wide.. like I have never done before. She's my sister indeed. and I luv her to Pits..something that I did mention once in my blog.

I scrolled down..to see more about the Maid of Honor's responsibilities..which it lists out like the following.

The main role of the Maid of Honor is to help the bride with the wedding planning... this can include shopping for dresses, addressing invitations, putting together favors and just being there when the bride needs some extra help, support or someone to talk to.

Traditionally, there are some specific duties that the maid of honor is to perform:

Host the bridal shower. Today, this is usually done with the help of the other bridesmaids.

Helps the bride get dressed on her wedding day.

Adjusts the bride's veil and train before she walks down the aisle and during the ceremony as needed.

Holds the bride's bouquet during the wedding ceremony.

Holds the groom's ring wedding ring until the exchange of the rings, if there is no ring bearer.
Witnesses the signing of the marriage license.

Helps the bride bustle her gown prior to the beginning of the reception.

If you are a Maid of Honor, the most important thing is to continually offer your assistance and support to the bride throughout the entire wedding planning process. We all need our friends - but during those stressful times of wedding planning - you need your best friend even more!

I was soo touched by this website.. that I felt like kissing the screen. My eyes literaly glowed to think.. of what lies ahead. I switched off the PC and returned to my pillow.
Soniyeeee....Sonniyeee...

The frown returned..this time oddly with a more disturbed feeling. I realized.. how much this would mean to me.. and to her.. and to our friendship.. and how I may have to still miss this golden opportunity. I decided.. I will just have to somehow be convincing enough to get this permission. I really don't know if i can do it.. but I will just have to try. With that determined thought.. I stopped the playing song.. unplugged my headphones from the phone..and decided to go off to sleep with the pillow on my side.

Strong wind rattled the windows as I tossed around and blinked my eyes open and became conscious of the fact that a ray of strong mid-summer morning Sun blaring through the curtains. I turn around to find my phone zinging alerting me of a new message received. I didn't even start to think who it could be.. because I know its my Morning greeting message, sent dutifully without fail by my closest friend in India. I read the message with half eyes closed..yawned and started to roll over and sleep again. When I felt like my friend's voice was calling me. I snapped my eyes open and wondered..wat was that.. I turned back to my phone to check the time.. and it was 7:30 am. I snapped the phone close and rubbed my eyes..when I stopped halfway through..and quickly opened the phone again. I hadn't noticed that there was another message. I open it.. and its from my girl.. she says she luvs me loads and she wants to wish me best of luck for everything. It was like a Deja vu for few mins... :)

I sat up and quietly prayed.. that she find happiness in everyway. This is a new stepping stone in her life.. and i want her to have the strength and courage to find this new turn as a welcoming boon. I want to thank her for being there for me.. for being my friend.. and for honoring me..by asking me to be her maid-of-honor.. and i want to show her my gratitude.. in many many ways..But, when words fail.. actions speak.. and I want to solemnly hope that I can be there for her.. on her big day.....

Intellectual Bloodshed

I set out yesterday to ask my male-buddies for a suitable parting gift for my friend Saed who is going to be doing his higher studies in Sweden. He happens to be the only Asian friend that I can associate with, and that's because we share the similar culture with a boundary-line separating us. He's a Pakistani and I am a Hindustani and we have become chums because we can talk and laugh in a common language Hindi/Urdu that has a totally different written format..but same phonetic syllables. A typical Mumbaiker confronted my keen interest in making friends across border as something that cannot be done by him, because of what "they have done to our countrymen in Mumbai Blasts". He has solemnly pledged to never consider any of my friends as 'friends' because "its sad he is a paki" and that is something that goes against him at the time being. I take this as a chance to tell you what my views are along with the contradicting views. Then I will let you be the one to decide or at the least will hope that by the end of this read, you will be broadminded enough to think twice before letting your adrenalin rush into an Intellectual Bloodshed for sake of the dear ones who have lost their lives in the recent happennings in Mumbai.
My friend felt that "They" shouldnt have done this to the simple working people, some who are sole bread earning members. But, he feels proud of the spirit of the city, which has accepted the fact that they are going to get back to work not because they are not afraid, but because they cant sleep hungry in the end of the day.

Mumbai has always been this way since ages. Its a city that lives no matter who or what dies or perishes. Muslims or Hindus hardly matter in these times because if you're a Mumbaiker then you are on the streets helping people out in floods, in earthquakes, and in bomb blasts. Yet, the same religion acts as a barrier for those who have been born across the border. Indian Muslims and Pakistani Muslims wont carry the same weight for a neutral person who wants to make a friendship as compared to a Muslim jawaan who has a certain responsibility in a small forsaken land of Kashmir. Yes, at this moment religion falls low and Nationality takes priority.

What's my verdict? "Insaan ki galti Insaan hi bhuktega..Bhagwaan nahi"( A man's mistake should be paid by a man only..not by God). If Pakistan is playing Devil out here, then where did this Pakistan come from? Somewhere from the pits of the under-world??? It came from History! Pakistan was created by HISTORY. Hatred towards each other was created by HISTORICAL massacres and incidents. If facing a Pakistani makes your mind only drift back to dead bodies that you saw broadcasted in those stations, then it is the result of the hostility border in your mind! A person "does not" want to be friends with them because HE has a problem with the mental hostility, not with the person actually. And if you consider them part of a nation who killed your people, then we should remember that we are also part of the nation that is the Living dead of Aids patients, gave birth to Veerappan, decoits, rapists and also terrorists!

Gandhiji is often blamed for the breakdown of an otherwise co-existing community. Gandhiji had a vision and He stuck to it. While during the partition, some influential leaders had ulterior malicious motives which led to the painful split. Problems never ended since then..and If Indians hate Gandhiji for what he has done..then Pakistanis hate him too. Gandhiji has changed their fate forever as well. This is a pure false creation of an anemity between two religious communities. We raise questions.. had it not been for Gandhiji? for Jinnah? for Sardar Patel? My answer is If so? could it have been less painful if everyone had got what they wanted.

We will never know! Some Humans have made mistakes and some others have to bear with the consequences. This is the FACT OF LIFE. It is Injustice..yes, but it's still a fact! And if we are going to sit here and complain about it.. we are the biggest fools on earth. You and I are not scholars of Politics. So what makes us think we can solve the problems of this world that easily? If we create hostility between two nationalities beyond the actual borders of India and Pakistan..more specifically anywhere outside Kashmir...then what are we resolving?

I believe in Today's youth. I see them as a strong potential to see past the historical boundaries and come forward to create a future together. Yes, it sounds pretty cliched at present..but do you have an alternative? Any one can be a critic, but a constructive critic is one should not have the right to put down another person unless he/she has a solution to back it up. I want to tell you that my friendship is "beautiful" because it is not everyday that someone from the other side would wanna join hand in hand with me in a foriegn land. I want to see ppl redefinining friendship beyond borders, culture, and race..Just like we redefine Love beyond language barriers. I have started to become a person who has created in my own way a little world by making friends with people whom You, as a patriot, cannot fathom to be friends with. Every nationality has their flaws just like Indians have.

Is there an end to this battle of thoughts?
There wont be..because two people are looking down the same cliff from different altitudes. The cliff wont change for us. The view won't change but definitely we will change our positions from time to time. I don't have Paki friends. I have friends who are Pakistanis. That's two different things. It is a saddening truth that this can't be explained to a victim of the blasts who has lost his limb. But, folks..Death is a natural phenomenon and it may be true that its occurence and cause is unnatural. If everyone who has experienced death should have such a saddistic view then that person becomes incapable of reasoning at any point in his life. And this is not true. We are made of stronger stuff.

Our past is a fact that cannot be changed at any cost. History cannot be re-written not matter how much we are finding it un-acceptable. Somethings are beyond our understanding and I always hope one can give little bit of gap in their reasoning for these things. We will have boulders in our path in the future, but we have to start learning to dodge it instead of jumping off the road alltogether. These rocks on my path are there to encourage and discourage me. I am insecure if I am going to look at every barrier as a potential death sentence.

A fighter always fights. But, a successful fighter is one who knows when to defend and when to attack. If he goes blindfolded attacking without thinking then he might find himself in the enemy grounds gun pointing to his forehead. DEFENSE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ATTACK. A rule of thumb while playing Chess. The city is still living and people are still partying their hearts out. While some of us are sitting here feeling bad and crying with our fellow mates. But, it is not constructive..what we feel. Our body learns to heal itself and come back to normal..so does our society. We need to quit looking at other innocent people as prey for our hatred...bcause this may cause them pain, but it will cause us more. I also want everyone to be happy..and those who are in my reach will surely be receiving this message from me. I don't mind going out and reaching more souls, which is what I have done.

I agree I have my disagreements with my across-border friends at times but the realization I have is that they are worthy of my opponent. I will learn from my enemies more than I would learn from my supporters anyday. True analyzation comes out in contradiction. I wish to think that it will always be a win-win situation because both parties would broaden their point of view. If you feel sad for the souls who were sacrificed then don't sit and cry for them. Their hopes and dreams have been shattered not to shatter you. But, to give u a better incentive to reach someplace where they had once hoped to be. God has given us the power to analyze our world and given us Indians a traditional background to guide us through Life. Paki-terrorists may want our hatred, but India wants everyone's Love. Now, you choose which country's loyalty you want to satisfy...

MOVIE BLUFF

The past week has got some valuble Bollywood 'showtime' as I got to see three Hindi movies. Invariably, my luck is rotten enough to say that all the three movies are flop! I wouldn't blame the producers or the directors, but I would surely blame the camera man.. because He focused on all the wrong "areas" of the heroes and heroines during the whole movie. :P Presenting to you my review of three flop watched in the past 3 days. They are : OOPS, NEAL n NIKKI, and PAAP.

Interested? then read further...

All three movies have one aspect clearly drawn out : Lots of Skin Showing!
Oh well, being the summer.. this wasnt a tad bit as bad as I thought..But, I got to say I would prefer the winter anyday after seeing the array of clothes (or lack of them)

OOPS..is a movie about a dancer boy who wants to be rich, and therefore turns into a striptease boy..who actually ends up sleeping with a middle-aged woman for money and finds out soon...that the middle aged woman is his best friends's mom!

Kahaani ki twist is good! But, the yuckiest part of the twist is they actually DARED to bring "emotions" and "maa sentiments" in the end. Would you get a load of that?? :P
My final Verdict: Stripteasing for men is Hazardous!!! not just for the best friends but also for the viewers who get a load of "long dialogues" after a lot of 'action'!

NEAL n NIKKI: Now, this u know is a story about a guy(Neal) who is born and brought up in Canada...but who wants to get laid soooo bad...that he ends up tagging along with a psychopath shrieking Banshee girl called Nikki! And He actually ends up thinking Nikki is the best one night stand he can end up with!(courtesy: her bitchy clothes..or the lack of it).

And even though you might hope their brains would start working after all the cooked up chemistry.. you end up figuring out how they ended up losing more brains in the [inter]course of the night! So, Neal goes on to marry the "girl" he is betrothed from(punjab da khet) whose cousin unluckily happens to be our shrieking banshee girl!

But, I must say its a real cool ending though. Nikki tries to stop the marriage.. but hellooo a chooha-like Sardarji stands up bravely and tells everyone that he wants to marry the Bride..bcause they have exchanged vows online!!! Now,with the film providing us with so many brain-less ppl, you actually appreciate the sardarji!

My final Verdict: Neal and Nangi..whoops i mean Nikki dont know how to kiss but you're lucky enough that they kiss a lot because atleast thats one good way to make the screaming banshee Nikki SHUT UP! (oh n not to mention gud way to close the flutter fake eyelashes of the fake-contact-lens-wearing Neal)

PAAP: well, dont get me started on this one...honestly...
Its a story about DALAI LAMA's re-incarnation..(although the movie cover has a half nude JOhn Abraham with an equally half nude girl (who would pass off as a bitch anyday)
Yes, my dear Ppl. presenting to you an A movie with DLama In it..which gave me half grey hair! But, getting back to the movie..they start it off with a sexy girl swimming et all..and end up in a monastry..where she is supposed to be a 'soon-to-be-monk' seeking "TRUTH".
Some facts of LIfe (from the movie)
1) one of those slum area-nepalese boys could be a Dalai Lama's re-incarnation who maybe soughted out by a sexy girl
2)Always check if the bathroom of a top 5 star hotel is deserted..because You never know when a hot-shot famous man with a pistol might appear and kill one of your fellow bathroom mates.
3) Never say the truth to a hot sexy police man because that will prolong the torture of the audience(movie could have ended in half n hour!)
Oh and one of the most important ones
4) a sexy girl's prayers can save a man who has a bullet hole through his stomach!(yup...no docs needed..watsoever!!)
oh and did i forget...
5) after an action packed english movie like fight, a prolonged emotional dialogue by a police guy is what changes the heart of monks!!! So much so that they decide that the sexy girl wanting to have intercourse with an equally hot policeguy is no longer PAAAP..

OH.... THE REVELATION IS TOOO GOOOD!! :P

My final verdict: Too bad John Abraham survives the bloody wound..because it's what trigged a change in the whole Dalai Lama dynasty's thinking!!! Oh.. and the heroine has Asthma problems.. because she keeps breathing too heavily..( although they make us believe it is due to lust..but its actually due to suffocation..somethin that the viewers can relate with very well!!)

Do me a favor, and please send me a list of good ol traditional ENGLISH MOVIES that I can watch and re-deem some of my lost braincells...

How do you Communicate?

I am currently on this testing-spree..and have put my brain to use in small quantities to come up with more such p.e.r.s.o.n.a.l.i.t.y tests. Soon enough there will be an interesting post coming up! so watch out.. :P

You Communicate With Your Ears

You love conversations, both as a listener and a talker.
What people say is important to you, and you're often most affected by words, not actions.
You love to hear complements from others. And when you're upset, you often talk to yourself.
Music is very important to you. It's difficult to find you without your iPod.

Cat-Dog Theory

After a really long break, I am coming back to my BlogginWorld. I feel very strange around here..because everything has changed.(talking about the new template thatI have put up) I didnt get a chance to write many posts with the new one...So, my own blog looked alien to me the last time I opened it.
But, then again..Something new always intrigues me..and now I don't mind getting more acquainted with my newly furnished "e-home".

Moreover, I am making a come-back with an animal version of real life theories...now, that is something You are not going to believe. I have a MENTOR... just like those singers in Sa re Ga Ma Pa challenge have. But, my mentor is not in the singing oriented proffession..although he could try his hand in it...(ok, lets just ignore this bit of false-praise here :P) My Mentor is one of the Blogging geniuses that I have come across..and nowadays all I need to do is get a syringe of new thought flows from the conversations with him and formulate them into my blog.. Ofcourse he only gives the key that makes my mind working..and thats how I have seen success in my blogs.

Cat-Dog theory started off with a conversation about which pets he like. He sheepishly admitted liking dogs a lot..and also disliking cats to an extent because they are "mathlabi" types..beats me what he meant by that. But, he had the insight to quickly add "Dogs are very lovable" with a big grin. Come to think of it.. It is true! I mean.. U know the age-old saying..Dog is a MAN"s Best Friend..(not a woman') Women are known for their 'feline' nature..which is like referring them to cats. Women love cats and are to a certain extent crazy about them. My mentor said it is possible because "cats are clean". I chuckled and added "and men aren't". Ok, so that got me a scorn! (well, if ur sensitive too..then I might as well put this in brackets that men are dirty from head to toe..including their mind). Lol

But, u know the legendary scientific phenomenon.."opposites attract". Yes, perhaps that's the reason man's best friend is a DOG. Dogs are LOVABLE and LOYAL..characteristics which are quite alien to Men. Eh? (Ya ya, I might be getting tomatoes for this from my Mentor. :P) But, my Mentor says that Likes Repel and that's why Men and women fight. I wish to correct this assumption. Lets take things to the scientific level shall we? When two bodies repel each other than then more often than not they have nothing to do with each other. While when two bodies attract each other to an extent, then only friction is feasible. The main nomenclature upon which dogs and cats fight...and men and women fight could be this. (cant say much for the animals..but for humans, definitely!).

If you need to create friction between two bodies then they need to rub on each other (in the wrong way -is how we refer to in plain english). Friction is fight and the more a man and a woman fight the more attraction there is lying underneath the surface. Yes, suprised? Well, don't be. I say you cannot fight with a man or a woman unless there is some level of attraction. That is why in most movies, you can see the hero and heroine fight/rub each the wrong way through the first few meets...and it somehow creates this itch that one can't get rid of.. and finally could even end up in love! (who knows?). That's why husbands and wives fight, and as you fight the attraction increases tend fold. You tend to feel ruffled, troubled and bothered and this makes you more aware of your opponent. That is when you(as a man) would realize how cute your wife looks if she is mad...or how ruffled your guy's hair looks when he is tensed... :P

It goes without saying..that makin-up after a fight is the most delicious part of a relationship. (rootna aur manaana). So, here is what I want to conclude. If you happen to fight with a certain person of the opposite gender...then you should beware because you might just be fighting a crush in a parallel plane! It is also the reason why You cannot hate someone so easily. To hate a person you need to love them at some level (or really like). People...... let go of that hatred..because it is a proof that you are still attracted to him/her. On the other hand, when in the first stages of love : People.....I vote for war than for peace! :P Because, war will get you ready for the un-thinkable and finally along with a piece of ur mind..you will end up giving a piece of ur heart..and if it comes both ways..then PEACE IS RESTORED!

i have been tryin to blog for past 45 minutes...

After lot of ctrl V and ctrl C and Delete

My screen is still blank....

Goodmorning People.

Ps: u know how kiddish this sounds..like how kids used to go for potty training during which parents are like.."chalo, go and try" and after sometime.. they give up!
i mean kids wud sit there quietly playing and making doodles with their hands like.. its some sort of "duty" they have to do.. by sitting there quietly staring at u with wide eyes...
i mean kids are so innocent they wud sit there for hours till the parents come around and go "what dont u wanna go?'"
and the kid nods negative and then the parents swear..
"rascal, u dare not come again and ask that u wanna go. Now off u go.. "
and the kid looks panic stricken for few moments.. and then whisks off in their own world laughing and enjoying themselves.

Filmi Ishtyle

Hindi cinema has some priceless villains with some priceless filmi dialogues.. One of them being "AJIT" who is supposedly a smart Hi-Fi Gangster Typo with lots of girl(friends) around him and lots of men to do his job! Also the legendary Amrish Puri, Pran etc. For the following, You just have to imagine Ajit saying them in his characteristic drawl, with a smirk on his face and a few henchmen in the background !

Ajit (pointing to the hero) : Raaabert, Ise liquid oxygen mein phenk do..liquid ise jeene nahin dega aur oxygen ise marne nahin dega..
(**throw him in liquid oxygen..the liquid wont let him live and the oxygen wont let him die)

Side-kick: Lekin Baas, agar macbeth ka zahar pilaayen to kaisa rahega.
(**but boss, what if we give him macbeth poison?)

Ajit: Smaaaaart baaaaaye! Ise Hamlet poison de do.. ye To be se Not to Be ho jaayega!
(**Smartt boy, Give him Hamlet poison, he will become 'not to be' from 'to be' !!)

Ajit to a lady : 'Rosy let's be cozy ' !
Ajit to a lady : ' Lilly don't be silly ' !

-- imagine the sound of water running in the bath in the background --
Ajit to henchman and a lady ( yeah, yeah she's the same one!) :
'Michael you take the cycle,
Mike, follow him on your bike,
Tony, tum pony par jao
Uh, oh - Mona tum nahati raho' !!
(**Tony, go on ur pony
Mona, u keep bathing' !!)

--Lady ( with half torn sari ) to Ajit ( with lust written all over his face) --
lady : ' bhagwan ke liye mujhe chhor do'
Ajit : ' itni achi cheez to main bhagwan ke liye bhi nahin chhor sakta'
(** For God's sake leave me'
** I can't leave such a nice thing, not even for God')

Henchman (panting and sweating) to Ajit : ' Boss, Boss sona kahan hai ' ?
Ajit : ' Itna Bada maidan para hai, kahin bhi so jao '
(** where is the sona (gold)
** This is such a big park, sleep (so) anywhere )

Ajit: (pointing at the ever-bald father of the hero)
"Ise Varnish me daal dho, Finish acchi hogi"
(**Throw him in Varnish; the 'finish' will be good')

--situation: Ajit in his den, with henchmen hanging around; some of themgambling. Ajit fidgeting about somewhat.--
AJIT: Raabut, jaao Bhole ki beti ko uttha ke lao.
(**Robert, go get (abduct) Bhole's daughter)
ROBERT: Par Boss, woh to goongi aur behri hai...?!
(**But boss, she deaf and dumb is...?!)
AJIT: Ohohohohohohohooo! Bewakoof hum use geeta paatth karwane thodi laa rahe hain!
(**HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Moron, we are hardly getting to teach religious_text_Gita)

The scene: Pran is looking through a telescope at a safe from afar. He turns to his henchman and says (in the famous Pran style): "Woh safe Johnson and Johnson ka hai. Iss duniya mai siraf teen log uskokhol sakte hai."
"Kaun hai, boss. Kaun?"
And Pran replies (after an appropriate pause): "Johnson, Johnson aur mai."

Ajit : Taany, is kutte ko potaasium khila do
(**Tony feed this dog potaasium)
Tony: Lekin, sarkar, potaasium se kya hoga ?
(**but, sir, wat will potaasium do?)
Ajit: Pot isse uuper le jayega, haash isse aur uuper le jayaega aur opium isse khuda ke paas pahuncha dega.
(**pot will take him up, haash will take him above that, and opium will take him straight to God)

--Ajit is sitting in his garage thinking about a big maal comming fromBirmingham.--
Henchman Mac : Baas headache ho raha hai.
(**boss i have a head-ache)
Ajit : Head Aaek ho ya Do tumhe jaana he padega.
(** one(ache) or two head, u will have to go)

Hehe, To end it in a good note, remember when ur in trouble dial Ajit's hot-line.. and if not him atleast Raaaabut or Mona Darling will pick up the phone! Just wondering.. how Ajit will be useful for the 'match-fixing' scenario in Cricket World Cup.

--Ajit and his gang are watching the cricket match between India and Australia--

Ajit : Peter score kya hai [**wats the score?]
Peter : Baas aapne halath kharab hai. [**Boss, our situation is bad]
Ajit : Kyoon Kya Hooaa. [**why what happend?]
Peter : bass Pontingg chhake mar raha hai. [**boss, ponting is smashing the balls]
Ajit : Rabbert usse phone lagaon. [**robert, put him on phone]
Robert to Ponting : Ponting, hamara bass tumse baath karna chahta hain. [**our boss wants to speak to u]
Ponting : Ponting here. who is this ?
Ajit: Pyaar se humko log taaayliphoneee bolte hai. Soono Tum aabhi Irfan Pathan ke tesre gend per Midaan per catch dekar aauut ho jayoge.
Ponting : I cannot do this....We will loose the match!
Ajit : Tumhe aisaa karna hi padega ' Tumahari Maa hamaare kabze me hain.

[**people call me lovingly Teliphone. Listen, u right now give a catch and leave the ground in the third ball of Irfan
**you will have to do this.. ur mother is in our custody]

Hehe, Somehow the dialogues lose their charm in the translation. Nevertheless, this post was definitely a worthy one! psst...I did pick up the dialogues from random Websites! But, if u dare to ask anything more then...
High pitched filmi style growl ' mei tujhe chodooonga nahiiiiiiiii' :P

Spectrum 1

Im not quite sure what to blog about.. Sooo...Ur goinna have to bear with the different frequencies of the spectrum as you read this one!

Spectrum 1:
Ever wondered if in truth or dare which one wins first ? Obviously, the truth. Because telling the truth itself is daring enough! That's something that puzzled me a lot. I had it all planned in my mind that the truth is never leaving the honey-dipped lips.. not even for a second. But, lo and behold..truth not just left but also bounced off the surface and crushed through a couple of tall dark handsome men's chests and came back in time for me to put it under my heel and nail it there for a while! I did something unexpected ( for the world, but quite expected from me ). I went with my heart up my sleeve and dashed into the reality channel and blurted out my dard bhari ekta kapoor typish filmi story about the sequel of love. The person in the receiving end was obviously slamming his head on the wall, not sure if it is because of the way i portrayed myself..absolutely naughty as usual.. or if it is because he cant make heads or tails over what i am saying! (neither Can u.. i guessed that :P)

Ever dreamt of an Oasis in the desert? Hallucinating about baywatch also i bet!!! (whack) Focus now... (male brains especially) Ever dreamt of an Oasis in a desert..feeling thirsty and yearning for one sip of that priceless water..and then suddenly gettin caught up in a cyclone with rain pouring over you chilling you to the bone and leaving you soggy and messed up??? That's precisely the truth of life! You end up getting flooded in when just few minutes ago you were praying for a drop of water!

In my case, I literally banished the shakespearan plays..feeding them to scorpions in the desert, only to end up doing the rain dance in the middle of the barren land..and getting blessed by a bucket full of water. Of course, some barren lands..remain barren..no matter which side up! But, exceptions are going down the drain in this post...as for now, I just want to tell u ppl.. that Dream.. Dream big! But, then when reality hits you.. you Scream big too! :P Rain dance here would have to symbolize my whacky daring personality to do what 'thou shalt not doeth'. This resulted in a predicament of split-personality. (yes, i know this post is gettin weirder and weirder). Split-personality as in..where one side of the land looks like grassland and the other looks like Tibet..brrr. I am not quite sure if I Should walk on...to see if there lies a beautiful garden in the end..(destiny of the journey of course) Or perhaps I should just quit this spectrum and go for the next one :P

Yupp.. Ur prayers have been answered!

Public Private Business

A possible suprise for many, but innovative nevertheless.
It is a public toilet in Switzerland which is mirror from outside
but transparent from inside, that is the people can see "only" from inside.
If this was the case in India, I am sure as soon as a girl enters this cubicle
Boys would come running hither thither and break down the whole booth if possible
Not to mention, the "bachaoo" screams wont be any less of the shrieking Police siren.

Just a thought.... How can someone be comfortable in the loo seeing so many people around?
Valid point ain't it?

True Devotion

When I sat next to my mom, I had the sudden urge to hear a bed-time story. So out of the blue, My mom decides to recite something that she had heard from somewhere else. I ask her if it is long and interesting, to which she replies by merely chuckling and admitting that it is the most interesting piece of information that she had got. Praarthana is a sort of prayer that we offer to God. Prarthana means basically to seek the Almighty with devotion. One knows that Indian Mythology is full of "Karma" where it illustrates that each action has an opposite equal reaction. Sounds like Newton's Law doesnt it? The song of Alicia Keys called "karma" sings

"...what goes around..comes around...
what goes up must come down....
now who's crying..desiring...to come back..."

Karma teaches that you reap what you sow. So, there is a give and take policy. Same goes for a devoted Praarthana. We are needed to fulfill our duties.. and that is the price that we pay for seeking God. The one who fulfills his duties without even realizing them is a true "bhakt"(devotee).

Thus, comes a story here. One day, a man walks up to a passerby and asks for direction to a temple. The passerby gives the direction immediately using his indexfinger. Upon which, the

indexfinger admits that "it is the most useful finger of all because it is able to point out & give directions to people".
The middle finger says " that maybe so.. but God has created me taller than u for some reason.. so that I am the best"

the third finger said " you may all be true, but when seeking wealth and matrimony he needs to ornament me"

Then, all three looked at the little finger (pinky) and said " you are not useful for anything because you can't surpass us in any way. Its a total waste to have you with us". The finger kept quiet...

The next day, that person decides to go to the temple. There, he did his usual namaskar with his arms posed in the Indian style.. --> _______/!\_______
At that time the Little finger(pinky) touched each other like all fingers.. and finally The little finger said " because of your pride, greed, and over-confidence, you have lost the chance to do darshan(view) of God first. I am the first peron who will get the blessings of the Lord always!".

Moral of the story: Think twice before blaming others, because some day you will have to pay for your deed.

Having first established the very qualities that one should stay away from, we see another story here to further illustrate the mindless devotion of a person to fulfill his duty.

One day, Lord Krishna decided to steal butter from his mom's house. Krishna's mother had tied a bell to the Big pot of butter that is hanging from the ceiling to alert her of any thief's presence. Lil Kid Krishna entered with his 6 friends with a plan of ravishing the butter.

So, they create a chain of people over whom Krishna was able to reach the pot, and that is when he sees the bell. He tells the bell to keep quiet and not ring. Krishna steals the butter from the pot, and the bell kept quiet.

He gives the butter to all his friends, and the bell kept quiet. He took some butter for himself and the bell kept quiet. But, the minute he put the butter in his mouth, the bell started ringing.

Krishna said "oh bell, I told you not to ring and now look you have me caught"

to which the Bell replied "oh lord, I kept quiet when you stole the butter, I kept quiet when you gave it to your friends. I kept quiet even when you took some for yourself. But, the second you ate it, I had to ring because I ring whenever you eat Prashaad in the temple. Out of habit, I rang".

Moral: One who does his duty without even realizing it.. has truly found the meaning of Devotion.

Smart Car Research

www.smart.com

Visit this website.. this is a car that i am going to be doing an ad-campaign on. Under what circumstances would you prefer to choose this car over the others in the market? As in.. whats important for you as an individual when you go out there and buy a car.

Actually, I would be grateful if you also can tell me, would you prefer a 'smart-car-for-two' or a 'smart-car-for-four'. (just ur opinion as a potential buyer).

Backdrop of this mission: I have a group of ppl, with whom I have set up an ad agency. We will be making an ad campaign for Smart car and try our best to renew its image in the minds of the locals. Now, since I am not a car-person.. I was hoping some of you can give me something to build upon. I just don't share that passion for cars as most men do..(i mean all)

PS: I accept any level of criticism about this car. You can even disregard it as not even being a 'car'.

Mayil Ravanan - Part II

NOTE: Please read Part I posted below before reading the following.

What we have established till now is that Sita, the daughter of Ravana is growing up in India as Janak King's daughter. Now, the rest of the events that unfold need to be looked with the above fact in mind. While Sita grew up in Janakpuri, astrologers in Lanka told Ravana that her daughter still lives and she lives as Sita. Ravana was happy to hear this. When Sita's beauty became wide spread and the famous competition of strength (as to who can break the massive bow) came to Ravana's ears, Ravana didn't let go of this chance. He fled to Janak City right away in quest of laying his eyes again on his lost-daughter. When He saw the competition that lay ahead, He thought that there is no one who can beat him at his strength. Ravana was a very PROUD Man. He decided to test the Bow with his own strength to see if his daughter gets a worthy partner for life! When Ravana saw that Rama bent the bow, He was happy and genuinely wished them both a good married life. He came back to his Kingdom a happy father.

But Alas, as destiny would have it the news of Rama being banished from his kingdom for 14 yrs in a forest devastated his peace of mind. Ravana was extremely unhappy about the fact that Rama did not become the successor to the throne of Dasharatha and thereby his daughter didn't become a queen. He was troubled with worry to find out how his daughter will manage in the meager benefits of a forest. Looking at his devastated state, Shoorpanaka his sister volunteered to go and see with her own eyes if her niece Sita is being kept well by Rama. Shoorpanaka sees Rama with Sita and Lakshamana. She sees how handsome Rama is and wonders if he is really as true to his character as a dutiful husband should be? Is he really a righteous husband to her beloved niece? So, Shoorpanaka came to Rama and made lustful moves at him for which Rama did not even get tempted one bit, but Lakshmana's anger was something she wasnt aware of.. which resulted in Lakshamana cutting off her nose. This hostility angered Shoorpanaka and she ended up giving a bad review about Rama and Lakshmana to Ravanan in Lanka. Ravanan was now angered and decided that he will save his daughter from such ill-tempered boys. He decided to bring her back to Lanka. But, Ravana knew that he can't touch any woman without her consent. Therefore,He sent his Uncle who was a magician(MAYAVI) to distract Rama. But, the Lakshman's rekha had to be surpassed. Ravanan took the form of Rishi so that Sita can come with her own will to Ravanan. This is what happened and led to the abduction of Sita.

Although epic critics have for long seen this act of abduction as Ravana wanting to covet another man's wife, the truth is that Ravana wanted to bring his daughter to safety. If Ravanan wanted to achieve his lustful ways with Sita, he could have tortured her until she agreed. But no epic shows any evidence of Ravanan being cruel to his daughter at any point. It was Sita, who didn't know the entire truth about her past, who was feeling bad and accused Ravanan of keeping her away from her husband Rama. But, Hanuman came to Lanka and set it on fire with his tail. This created havoc in his kingdom resulting to loss and devastation of innocent subjects' property. What King in his right mind will not care about the injustice done to his kingdom? What King will forget his duties as the protector? Certainly Ravanan didnt and wouldn't. He decided that Rama and his army would have to pay for this and that is why Ravana went for war against Rama, even though Rama was his own Son-In-Law!

No one can escape from his destiny. Rama became the Hero of the epic and therefore Good was won over Evil. But, it was meant to win because Every single Incarnation of Vishnu holds this as the main truth! But, Did u know that Ravana and his brother Kumbhakarna were Cursedd to this? Yes, Ravanan and his brother Kumbhakarnan are two Asuras who guard the gates of "VAIKUNTA" (the heavenly abode where Lord Vishnu Lives). When a Sage came and wanted to meet Lord Vishnu both the Asuras denied entrance because their Lord was resting at that time. The Sage's anger erupted and he cursed the two Asuras to be finding their death in the hands of their Lord in every single incarnation of Vishnu. In Ramayan, Kumbhakarna and Ravana both find their demise in hands of Lord Rama. In Krishna Avatar, Lord Kamsa and his brother also find their demise in hands of Lord Krishna. Now, these Asuras are not entirely bad because if you come to think of it they have the noble role of bringing glory to their Lord in every avatar of Lord Vishnu.

This explaination of Ramayan and the importance of Ravanan is referred to as "MAYIL RAVANAN". Ravanan who lived somewhere in Lanka didn't have to bother with some girl called Sita, didn't have to abduct her when he had a beautiful wife at home. Ravana was a devoted father and was a great King. But, alas.. he was too proud of himself and he tried to escape from the grasp of Karma. Thus, our Indian ideology is proven yet right again that Karma is what determines what happens and what will happen eventually.

THE END
Source: My mother..who heard it from her mother.. who heard it from her mother..who....and the list goes on! :)

Mayil Ravanan - part I

Kid: Amma, what is that God's name?
Mother: That is Lord RAMA. And beside him is his brother Lakshmana and wife Sita.
Kid: Mamma.. who is Rama?
Mother: Rama was a great King. He is incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He came on this earth as son of Dasharatha and married Goddess Lakshmi who is Sita. When Sita was abducted by this Evil 10-headed Demon called Ravana, Lord Rama took his army of Monkeys with aid of his loyal servant Hanuman and set Lanka on fire and got Sita back.

This is what the Valmiki Ramayan is all about. Our elders and teachers in school have taught us Ramayan as this epic where again according to Hindu Ideology Good wins over Evil. Oh.. and the Evil here is Ravana. Now, instead of focusing entirely on the Hero and Heroine (as is usually the case) I want you all to zoom into this really interesting character called RAVANAN. Who is He? What is his role in Ramayan? Why is he so evil when he has a flourishing Kingdom? Why did he make many dumb moves such as abducting Sita even after knowing she was married? Please read on and all your questions will be answered one by one.

Ravana is a prosperous King of a kingdom called Sri Lanka. He is a very strong SHIVA BHAKTA. Ravana has done many tapasyas and won Boons from Lord Shiva which has made him as one Invincible King. Ravana is a very well-talented musician. Ravana has a WIFE..Yes.. a Wife who is a very nice and loving Queen. Ravana had brothers and sister including VIBHEESHAN (who is a good guy essentialy as he helped Rama in the end) and KUMBHAKARNA (the very famous Sleeping Giant who gets slayed by Rama) And last but not least the ugly sinful woman called SHOORPANAKA who got her nose cut off when she tried to come near Rama. So.. what's missing in this picture? Where is the 10 headed Demon who created problems in Ramayan? Does he have ten-heads??? really??? Dont you think the subjects of Sri Lanka would have banished him for being a weird king?

Haha, This whole scenario is funny because the Truth is not what you see but it is the way you perceive it. Ravana is just another powerful King like many others. Ravana doesnt have 10 heads.. but he has ten 'goon' (qualities) that is portrayed as 10 heads in all comics. Ravana was a righteous King and ruled his subjects well. But, alas.. Karma is what destroyed him. Ravana did a mistake in his rein. He once playfully made lustful moves on a female-Rishi called VEDAVATI (who is rishi born out of Vedas). Vedavati was devoted to Vishnu and accepted him as the husband in her mind.. but Ravana tried to force her into marrying Him and he pulled her hair. Vedavati cut her hairr and looked at him with anguish and said... "You have touched a woman without her acceptance and therefore I Curse You that if you ever touch a woman without her will your head will blow to pieces. Because you have tested my purity today I am going to burn myself and I will return back to kill you. You will be destroyed because of ME!" So she said and burnt herself alive chanting "Om Nama shivaaya".

Long forgotten Ravana married and lived happily with his Queen who bore him a GIRL child. When Astrologerss came to look at the horoscope and tell the destiny of the child they said.."Ravana, this child of yours if you proclaim her as your daughter then she will destroy you. She is born here to vanquish you and your kingdom" Ravana was aghastt.. and didnt know what to do. His wife laid asleep after her child-birth and Ravana and his brothers and sister decided to hide this fact and cast-away the girl child in a river. They told Ravana's wife that her daughter died. In some Kingdom in India, Janak King found a small casket with a beautiful little girl child in a river. He takes the girl and calls her SITA and brings her up as his own daughter.

What have we established till now? Sita is Ravana's own daughter! Please read on the part II for the continuation.

Excellent Short Story

A husband takes his wife to play her first game of golf.Of course, the wife promptly hacked her first shot right through the window of the biggest house adjacent to the course. The husband cringed, "I warned you to be careful! Now we'll have to go up there, find the owner, apologize and see how much yourlousy drive is going to cost us."So the couple walked up to the house andknocked on the door.

A warm voice said, "Come on in." When they opened the door they saw the damage that was done: glass was all over the place, and abroken antique bottle was lying on its side near the brokenwindow.A man reclining on the couch asked, "Are you the people that broke my window?""Uh...yeah, sir. We're sure sorry about that," thehusband replied."Oh, no apology is necessary. Actually I want to thankyou. You see,I'm a genie, and I've been trapped in that bottle for a thousand years. Now that you've released me, I'm allowed to grantthree wishes. I'll Give you each one wish, but if you don't mind, I'llkeep the last one for myself."

"Wow, that's great!" the husband said. He pondered a moment and blurted out,"I'd like a million dollars a year for! the rest of mylife."
"No problem," said the genie. "You've got it, it's the least I can do. And I'll guarantee you a long, healthy life!"

"And now you, young lady, what do you want?" the genieasked. "I'd like to own a gorgeous home complete with servantsin every country in the world," she said. "Consider it done," the genie said. "And your homes will always be safe from fire, burglary and natural disasters!"

"And now," the couple asked in unison, "what's yourwish, genie?"

" Well, since I've been trapped in that bottle andhaven't been with a woman in more than a thousand years,my wish is to sleep with your wife.

"The husband looked at his wife and said, "Gee, honey, you know we both now have a fortune, and all those houses. What do you think?"

She mul! led it over for a few moments and said, "Youknow, you're right. Considering our good fortune, I guess Iwouldn't mind, but what about you, honey?"

"You know I love you sweetheart," said the husband."I'd do the same for you!"

So the genie and thewoman went upstairswhere they spent the rest of the afternoon enjoyingeach other. The genie was insatiable. After about three hours of non-stop fun,the genie rolled over and looked directly intoher eyes and asked, "How old are you and yourhusband?"

"Why, we're both 35," she responded breathlessly.

"Really?! Thirty-five years old and both of you still believe in genies?"

Success

We have quite often come across books and articles such as "10 steps to success" or " Top 10 secrets of a successful Person" etc. Organizational behavior is very vital for the success of an organization as a whole and an individual who is a part of it. An organization is a place where different personalities come together and work towards a common goal. Of course, I am limiting my definitions for the cause of this article. It is very interesting to see the network of people you come across while working. No matter how well-learned you are in the ways of the people, you always come across someone who throws in a different perspective of your knowledge about individuals.

The most important aspect of an individual is his 'perception'. Everyone has it, use it, change it and challenge others with their own. Stereotyping is perception at its worst. It is when individuality is stripped off from influencing your perception about someone. It can have its consequences if you are not too careful about it. But, where do stereotypes emerge from? They emerge from the general observation hypothesized in a sample of people from a certain race, country, ethnicity, gender etc. Stereotyping need not necessarily be bad. For example, Chinese are Intelligent/ geniuses at math. I don't think any Chinese is going to take offense with it. But, what I want to do is challenge the very traits that are highly talked about and admired often.

Let me start with a basic question. Do you like good-looking people or not? Invariably, most of us will answer Yes. Media showcases good-looking people as the best form of 'attraction'. But, let us bring this quality into observation in a more personal environment, like lets say your team members. You are part of a team where you have an extremely good looking male or female who wears the latest trendy clothes and is always lookin their best. What is your first assumption about their working ability? I presume negative. You perceive that a certain good-looking person is good at only that.. looks, and nothing else. After a few weeks you start to cut-down on this perception as you see that person work. But, still.. if at any instance..you see the person slacking from their responsibilities, what do you blame it on? Good looks. The point I am trying to draw here is that Good Looks need not be a good-asset all the time. It can create insecurity, distrust and over-expectations around one which can often prove to work against that person!

Another question: Do you like extroverts or introverts? An extrovert is one who is out-going social and talking and the "life of the party" type. While an introvert is more to himself, less social and almost going 'unnoticed' in a party. At a glance, we all would prefer to be extroverts as it is portrayed to be the "self-confident & interesting" personality that is usually ' liked ' by all. Extroverts are usually the people who have many friends and are constantly in the company of someone. It is what creates the 'popular' group in a given social setup. We all at some point come across a certain popular group in our respective social set ups (office, school, class.. etc). It is definitely an admirable trait, no doubt. But, let us again bring it down to a more personal level. Do you really want to always be around a person who is always talking.. always the center of attention and is constantly over-taking you with their pompous way? Think about it. Every kind of personality speaks for itself. We forget that Introverts have the basic ability of "listening". We all want our perceptions to be heard and listened to. Perhaps being around an Extrovert isnt going to do your personality much good. You have to build your personality and individuality. Who said Introverts do not create a mark on you? They do.. with their non-verbal actions. A look can speak billion words. A statement from such a person is usually highly regarded! Research says " Successful people don't have to be "the life of the party", in fact many are quiet, even shy, but they value people and they value relationships. They listen to friends, neighbors, co-workers and even bartenders."

For now, the conclusion that I have come to is that success is not about popularity, but it is about individuality. It is highly important to retain your individuality. It is the stepping stone for success and will always be. This brings us to a very vital question. Can success be generalized or not? Hmm..

One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his Sweatshirt.
Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me, "What
setting do I use on the washing machine?"

"It depends," I replied. "What does it say on your shirt?" He yelled
back, "University of Oklahoma ."

And they say blondes are dumb...

--------------------------X----------------------------------

"It's just too hot to wear clothes today," Jack says as he stepped out of >the shower, "honey, what do you think the neighbors would think if I mowed >the lawn like this?"

"Probably that I married you for your money," she replied.
--------------------------X----------------------------------
A man and his wife, now in their 60's, were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. On their special day a good fairy came to them and said that because they had been so good that each one of them could have one wish.
The wife wished for a trip around the world with her husband.

Whoosh! Immediately she had airline/cruise tickets in her hands.

The man wished for a female companion 30 years younger...
Whoosh...immediately he turned ninety!!! Gotta love that fairy!
