The Tables Turned (books remain unturned)

As you know, I am being lulled into the world of exams. Here's my chance to portray something that I feel I can relate with during this time. This is a poem called "The Tables Turned" by the famous William Wordsworth, who was christened as"The world's supreme poet of Nature"

Up! Up! my friend, and quit your books;
Or surely you'll grow double
Up! Up! my Friend, and clear your looks;
Why all this toil and trouble?

The sun, above the mountain's head,
A freshening luster mellow
Through all the long green fields has spread,
His first sweet evening yellow.

Books! 'tis a dull and endless strife;
Come, hear the woodland linnet,
How sweet his music! on my life,
There's more of wisdom in it.

And hark! how blithe the throstle sings!
He, too, is no mean preacher;
Come forth into the light of things;
Let Nature be your teacher.

She has a world of ready wealth,
Our minds and hearts to bless -
Spontaneous wisdom breathed by health,
Truth breathed by cheerfullness.

One impulse from a vernal wood
May teach you more of man,
Of moral evil and of good,
Than all the sages can.

Sweet is the lore that Nature brings;
Our meddling intellect
Misshapes the beauteous forms of things-
We murder to dissect

Enough of Science and of Art;
Close up those barren leaves;
Come forth, and bring with you a heart
That watches and receives.

-William Wordsworth

very impressive....

to extend this, it is always during the exams that the creativity reaches a high, as you yearn to come out of the shackles to do a lot of interesting things, which you would have never ever imagined....

so....what are you planning to do ??

hey Teju!

U took the words out of my mouth.Nothin like a concentrated exam period to make ur mind think of some million dollar schemes to become a picasso or a william as in my case.

I am currently immersed in improving my 'artificial intelligence' as William here would call it

Did u guys know that William's parents died when he was young. He was then sent to school in Lake District and had plenty of time to roam early and late hours of the day in the mountainous regions. He grew up seeing the wilderness and his passion for nature is thus potrayed in his poems.

According to him -"Nature is in itself the Breath of God"-
